Ellan Finman Vavrick
Ellan Vavrick grew up in Pensacola, Florida. The city is nestled on a quiet bay, still guarded by Spanish forts. In this setting; which offered both the beauty of the Gulf's crashing waves on sugar-white sands and the wooded wonderlands of moss-covered oaks, heavy magnolias, pine forests, deer, dove, fox and quail; her love of nature developed and grew.
In her early years, Ellan formally studied piano, dance and oil painting. As time progressed, painting became the primary artistic focus and she devoted her efforts to honing her creative eye and technique.

Natural Inspirations
Since those first, early lessons sparked her innate creative tendencies, her interest in all things made by hand has taken her on a long journey exploring all manner of mediums including oils, ceramics, acrylics, printmaking, leather working and embellishment, copper relief, the textile arts, photography, mosaics and more. The beauty of nature is a frequent theme in Ellan's work.
Now making her home in New Orleans, Louisiana; Ellan offers a line of fine jewelry inspired by her lifelong love of nature, the lively energy of her current home town and the resilience of its people and cultural influences.
Each design is personally handmade incorporating any mixture of semi-precious gem stones, minerals, crystals, freshwater pearls, coral, shell, bone, enamel, glass, antique and rare exotic beads, and silver findings that may be required to achieve the enduring look and wearable designs for which she has become known.
